Maud H. Purdy (1873 - 1965). Staff artist of Brooklyn Botanic Garden, 1927 - 1945. Maud Purdy was born in Philadelphia and attended the Philadelphia Institute of Art, Adelphi College, and Pratt Institute. She further studied with landscape architect Amy Cogswell and sea landscape and still life artist George William Whittaker.
